About the Creator - William Menzies Jr.
Born in Aberfeldy, Scotland, William Menzies Jr. was raised with craftsmanship in his blood. From a young age, he worked alongside his father, a master cobbler and custom bootmaker, learning that true integrity lives in the work of one’s own hands.
In 1997, William began his journey with glass under the legendary Bob Snodgrass in Eugene, Oregon. What started as curiosity became a lifelong devotion to the ancient dialogue between fire, breath, and form.
Today, William lives just outside Austin, Texas, in a quiet village of artists tucked into the Hill Country. His studio, a sacred space of fire and creation, is where Vasos Sagrados copitas are born — small vessels crafted to honor tradition, ritual, and gratitude.
A rugged traditionalist with a renaissance spirit, William is a welder, woodworker, knifemaking enthusiast, gardener, and amateur mycologist. His life’s work blends ancient practices with a quiet, smiling stoicism rooted in ceremony and respect for the land.
Inspired by a journey to Oaxaca, Mexico, and the sacred traditions surrounding agave, William created Vasos Sagrados to celebrate the spirit of gratitude that comes with every sip.
Each copita is a small testament: to slow living, enduring craft, and the timeless beauty of shared ritual.
